CleanCuts (the “Service”) is operated by CleanCuts B.V., a private limited company (besloten vennootschap) incorporated in the Netherlands (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are registered with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number , registered address , contact . By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) and able to enter into a binding contract. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it to these Terms.
The Service lets you upload an image and automatically remove its background using AI detection or a color-based method, and download the result as a transparent image. Features, limits and pricing may change over time. The Service is for lawful use only.
You can generate a Preview without paying. A Preview is shown at reduced quality with a visible watermark, only to help you decide whether to purchase; you receive no licence to use, save, copy or distribute a Preview. Removing or circumventing the watermark, or extracting an un-watermarked Output without payment, is prohibited and a breach of these Terms.
Outputs are digital content delivered immediately. By downloading an Output you request immediate delivery and acknowledge that, once the download has started, you lose any statutory right of withdrawal for that Output. Unused Credit may still be subject to the statutory cooling-off period as required by applicable consumer law.
You agree not to upload or process any image, or act, in a way that:
We may set fair-use limits and may refuse, remove or reverse processing we reasonably believe breaches this section.
You keep all rights in your Inputs and Outputs. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store and process your Inputs solely to operate and deliver the Service (including sending them to our processing infrastructure and a background-removal engine). You represent that you own or have the necessary rights and consents for every image you upload. We do not use your images to train models or for advertising. Inputs and processed files are deleted automatically after a limited retention period (see the Privacy Policy).
The Service, its software, design and branding are owned by us or our licensors. Nothing here transfers our intellectual property to you. Once an Output has been paid for, the Output file is yours to use, subject to the rights you hold in the underlying Input.
We rely on third parties such as our payment provider, hosting and image-processing infrastructure, whose terms may apply. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control, but choose providers with appropriate safeguards and data-processing agreements.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may perform maintenance and may add, change or discontinue features, acting reasonably and lawfully where a change materially reduces a paid feature.
Background removal uses automated detection and may be imperfect for some images — edges, fine hair, transparent objects or low-contrast backgrounds can produce imperfect results. Outputs are best-effort; you are responsible for reviewing them before use. An imperfect but delivered Output is not by itself grounds for a refund.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including certain statutory consumer rights.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or loss of data, profit or goodwill. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim. This does not limit liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything that cannot be limited by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages and costs arising from your Inputs, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of third-party infrastructure, network failures, or acts of government.
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give reasonable notice. Continued use after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
